Your home is brimming with DIY design potential, it just takes a little imagination. So, to help inspire your own mini home makeover endeavors, we rounded up a handful of simple and inexpensive projects you can do all by yourself in a day or two. From refinishing old wood furniture to transforming your bathroom into a spa-like sanctuary, here are six goof-proof home upgrades you can do over the weekend with ease.

Refinish old furniture. A little paint goes a long way when revamping your home. Give your old wooden furniture – think dining chairs, side tables, and dressers—an instant facelift with a fresh coat of paint or wood stain. If you’re feeling really adventurous, use sandpaper or a wire brush to create a faux distressed finish once the paint has dried.

Turn Your Bathroom into a Spa. Searching for an easy and affordable way to elevate the ambience of your entire bathroom? With the right accessories, you can transform your humdrum bathroom into a spa-like space in seconds. Incorporate lots of sumptuous textiles, like the Tufted Bath Rug and Super-Plush Bath Towels, to instantly create a luxe, layered feel for your bathroom, as well as a handful of aromatic candles, such as the AM to PM Set, to give the space extra feel-good vibes.

Start a gallery wall. Why hang up just one piece of art when you can have a whole gallery wall? Instead of investing in a pricey large-scale painting, try installing a salon-style display on an empty wall. You can start with a handful of smaller photos or art prints, like llusion 6.0 by Permanent Press Editions, and simply add to it—piece-by-piece if necessary—whenever your budget or schedule allows.

Start an indoor garden. A beautiful indoor garden is a gift that keeps on giving. Along with improving the air quality of your home, a stylish houseplant or two makes an attractive addition to just about any space. Start a windowsill garden with a handful of small succulents, or dress up a side table or two with a gorgeous leafy green in a sophisticated planter, like a Philodendron Green in Small Grant Planter, to usher some all-natural charm into your living space.

Style your bookshelf. Your book collection is an often untapped design opportunity, it just takes knowing how to style it. Arrange your book collection by spine color to quickly brighten up a room, or organize them by size for a streamlined (and minimalist-friendly) display.

Removable wallpaper FTW. Inexpensive and easy-to-install, peel-and-stick wallpaper is a clever way to revamp a room in a few hours or less. Forge a statement wall in your living room by using bold-patterned removable wallpaper to give the whole space a new look, or install it on the wall behind your bed in lieu of a traditional headboard.
