When paired properly, an unexpected color combo can make a big impact in a bedroom. Along with infusing color and personality into a small amount of space, an interesting mix of bedding, artwork, and décor items in certain hues can create visual interest in a humdrum bedroom. Curious what color combos make for a surprisingly chic bedroom scene? From dark green and yellow to navy and pale pink, here are five unexpected color combinations that will work wonders for your room.

1. Dark green and blue

Few colors can liven up cool blue hues like a rich shade of dark green. If you have a blue-painted bedroom, consider the Linen Hardcore Sheet Bundle in Kiwi to create subtle contrast in the space. Love the Kiwi-colored bedding but stuck in a white-walled room? Throw a Lightweight Quilt in Navy on the bed or hang Cumulus No. 3 by Molly Frances to bring some depth and dimension to the scene.

2. Pale green and pink

If you like the idea of pale pink bedroom décor but don’t want the space to feel too fussy, consider incorporating some pale green into the scheme. For example, a bed dressed in a set of Spotted Green sheets will balance out soft pink painted walls, just as a blush-hued planter subdues the earthy green leaves of a succulent.

3. Navy and pale pink

Nothing brightens up a navy-blue bedroom palette like a dash of pale pink. Pair a set of petal-colored linen sheets with a Classic Duvet Cover in Spotted Deep Navy on Blue for a layered bedding look. If you have a deep navy bedding set, throw a Mulberry Silk Pillowcase in Blush on the bed to soften the scene in style.

4. Green and yellow

If you thought sunny yellow hues only worked well with other warm colors, then you’d be mistaken. Bright yellow décor elements can play up the yellow undertones of green-hued items in your bedroom, creating a dynamic color scheme. Energize your Kiwi or Honeydew-colored linen bed coverings by placing a Charlie Bell Echo Clock in Yellow on your nightstand, or keep the clock and swap out the solid sheets for ones in Spotted Green for a more eclectic scene.

5. Black and white and anything

Looking for an eye-catching way to liven up a classic black-and-white bedroom color scheme? A burst of a solid saturated shade, such as dark green, red, or yellow can create an interesting focal point when paired with black-and-white art, like Shadows #3 by Daylight Dreams Editions, and bedding, such as the Classic Duvet Cover in Graphite Grid.
